Thank you for all of the calls, prayers and texts; the support we are receiving is amazing!
Sometimes things don’t go as we planned and we can chose to worry and get angry or roll with the punches, and we have been taught by these strong willed parents to roll with it! They have very strong willed daughters, you never know what life is going to throw at you but in a situation like this you got be ready.
Yesterday they decided to come to the hospital because Dad was having severe shortness of breath, he was admitted. He has been in atrial fib since November, he takes meds to control it. However, whenever he has a lot of stress on his body his heart rate goes haywire! This is what happened and why he felt so bad the first part of this week.
So, here we are today! The consensus of everyone is to get his meds regulated a little better to keep his heart rate in control, they have been able to temporarily remedy the problem but want a long term solution. Our cardio oncologist will let us know how he wants to do this today, we feel very confident in the doctors here. They are on top of things, I am always amazed by the staff at Vanderbilt.
So, we are fighting this battle head on, as Mom and I were talking earlier we once again are glad this is coming up now rather than next week. That was confirmed by the nurse practitioner, she said they want to get him under control before they really stress him. The chemo he will receive next week will be tough and we will be ready for it as a result of this little stepping stone. We are believing that his heart will be ready for our next part of this process, Join us in praying for regular heart rhythms!
He is doing good, we just finished his bracket and were excited to watch the Cats play later!
