I hesitated to share on here today, but I’m not sure why, I need Jesus just as much on Saturday as I did throughout the week!
My devotion yesterday asked the questions, when was the last time that Jesus did something that truly took your breath away? When was the last time I was truly amazed by something?
I thought for a bit and couldn’t really decide, I pondered the question most of the day and I came up with this. I am in awe of many things that Jesus does, they can be found all around everyday if you are looking for them.
I’m in awe that each day that I have set down to read my devotion and prepare what I’m going to blog about it has connected in perfect alignment with my thoughts, what I read goes right along with something else I’m hearing throughout the day. He is connecting dots that only He can connect. I’m in awe of his goodness!
I’m in awe of His simple everyday moments, we took one of our youth to eat after we did a road clean up project. We went to eat at our much loved pizza buffet, Mr. Gattis. He didn’t know what was going on, he had never been there. I loved watching him get whatever he wanted and filling his belly on his own wants! Simple, but something that surprised me. I’m in awe of God’s favor.
I’m in awe of God daily, another simple one was the road clean-up that we did with our youth group. Another thing that I have put it off since January. I finally picked a definite date, it was the most beautiful afternoon. Our church family pitched in and we had the perfect amount of help! We got done at the exact minute it started to get too dark to work. Only a day and plan God could orchestrate. I’m in awe of His faithfulness.
Maybe I have so many things I was in awe of yesterday because I was looking for them! That is all we have to do, look for God in the ordinary. He is there! He loves us so much, He wants more of each of us. Our time, our talents, whatever we have to give. It doesn’t have to be a long and thought out process, spontaneity is sometimes the best! Listen to the still small nudge that only He can speak with and follow it wherever it may lead you today.
It could be as simple as making eye contact and saying hello, opening a door for someone with their hands full, giving a hug…each one of ours will look different as well as our responses. Look for ways to be in awe of God today! Who knows you could be the one He uses to leave others in awe of Him, don’t miss the opportunity to be a blessing to someone today!
Hope your weekend is off to a great start! Be blessed!
