So, it has been a week since this whole challenge idea has begun. How has it been for you? Do you notice a change for the better? Are you going to keep it up?
These are all good questions that we are facing this week, is it a coincidence that this all began the week before Thanksgiving, I think not. This is a week we have set apart as a nation to thank God for all of the things that we have and are blessed with. That in itself is reason to keep going, we have been given a chance at a new opportunity in life, a new way of living, a new way of viewing our world. Our earthshaking movement has begun!
I want to take the valuable lessons that I have learned this week and put them into action all of the rest of the days of my life. I want to always view people with a kind heart willing to listen and not judge. I want to speak life into others, not death! I want to be a positive change in our world, I want my kindness to be infectious and get all over people.
Circumstances will not always be perfect but our reaction to them can be life altering if we let it. I want my voice to be as loud if not louder than naysayers and negativity. We will all encounter a lot of different people this week, with work, life in general and with Thanksgiving gatherings. Be the light in those places that you enter, set the tone for a happy time not a time of complaint or negativity. It won’t always be easy and you may not end victorious but the fact that you try is the whole message in and of itself.
Philippians 2:3 says, Be humble, thinking of others better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.
We never know what kind of lives those around us live, we don’t know what happens behind closed doors. If there is someone who drives you nuts, try to look at life from their point of view. We each have a story, we were each created by God for a purpose and He loves EVERY person! So if we are trying to make our walk look like His then we too should love every person even if they make it hard to love them. Pray for people who drive you batty! It really does work, trust me! It will help you tremendously, He can give you a peace that nothing else can offer.
So, let’s keep this challenge going! Let’s make it a lifestyle change! Let’s do something about the state of our world!
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 says, “With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by His power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed promoted by faith. We pray this so that the name of the Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Let’s do this people! What do you have to lose? The real question is what do you have to gain? And, the answer is everything!
Have a fabulous week, be blessed and be a blessing to those around you!
