Well another fun game has been added to our Thanksgiving memories, as you can see I wasn’t on the winning team but we had so much fun! No major injuries, but the real test will be to see how everyone is feeling today! I feel like we will all share sore muscles! We had a fun-filled day playing football, family feud and we ended with night with cards! Obviously, we love games! Maybe it’s because we all share in the fun and laughter that always ensues!
I hope you and your family make good memories today! Put yourself into the day, enjoy every minute. Don’t anticipate anything but be present in everything. I find myself missing out on a lot because I’m looking to the next thing and not thoroughly enjoying what is going on right in front of me.
I’m working on grasping and being thankful for the present, I have so many things to be thankful for in the present today! Another meal with my parents, I’ve spent the last 37 years enjoying turkey day with them! My sisters and their large amount of offspring, from the top to the bottom, they are my bestest of friends! My adorable little family, an adoring husband and healthy lively children, in-laws who have literally been saved by the grace of God! I could go on and on…but what I’m trying to say is sometimes the most simple of things are the best things going on around us.
Don’t look to tomorrow’s worries, you may miss out on the greatest blessings right in front of you today! If your missing someone this year, remember all of the fun memories you were able to share of past experiences. Thank God He placed them in your life for as long as He did!
I find myself doing this in the big and small events of life, so this is a message that we should carry with us everywhere we go. Don’t let fear and worry about the future rob you of one more second of the present. God already has His hand in your future, trust that to Him today! His plan is always much better than ours anyway. So let go of controlling what you can’t and live life for today!!!
Let’s do this! Enjoy every second today! Be safe if you hop out into the shopping madness that begins tonight!
