James 5:16 says, “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God- it is dynamic and can have tremendous power].”
That is just it, put into action, that is a big statement. We can have tons of good ideas and intentions but we must take the step to put them into action. It usually requires a giant leap in faith. We are all called to many different types of actions, we all have different goals and dreams that we want to fulfill. I do believe that we all share some of the same though, too. The main one I want to focus on today is love!
Love is like glue that holds us together, it is what binds us. Our world desperately lacks this. There are a few different types of love, agape love is such a sweet love, it wants nothing in return. It is love that cradles us, agape love is the highest form of love. The dictionary says one other meaning, the love of God for man and of man for God. There is also unconditional love and it is just that, love without any conditions. It loves through the tough places, it isn’t judgemental, it doesn’t think it always knows better, it is simply love!
This is what I think we are all called to do, LOVE. And love no matter what, no matter if you think you know better, love no matter of color or race, love no matter how many wrong turns a person has taken. Love not judge. I know I’m asking a lot here, but it is what is right. We are called to love, not judge. Love the slow cashier at the store, love the terrible waitress, love the bad drivers that cut you off, love, love, love! If we start this, it will be contagious.
This is actually a challenge to you, love all those you come into contact with, let your love be infectious and contagious, let it get all over people. Choose love above all else.
I drive by a house around here occasionally and I am always wondering what goes on inside it, it has a rebel flag waving proudly in the front of it. I’ve seen it falling, I’ve seen it put back in its place, I’ve seen a second one added. So I have concluded that these people are serious about this flag, I don’t understand it at all. I feel safe in saying that they have some level of hate running their lives. Thinking about this last night driving by this house, made me think of protesters of the opposite origin. They hold signs that say their lives matter, they too hold some form of hate in their lives. These two extreme opposite ends of the spectrum are letting hate rule over love. Where is the love? It’s tucked away somewhere in there. I will never know how these different people got to these places, but I do know a way out.
That is my whole purpose here, to share the way out. The answer is to love, it may sound too simple and it really is that simple. We are called to love each other, it is one of the greatest commandments.
The Bible says in Mark 12:30-31, Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all of your mind and with all of your strength. The second is this, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no greater commandment than these.
Get yourself right and show love to everyone, I want to be a part of our generation that changes its course from hate to love. I am going to be a part of it, I am challenging you to something greater than yourself today! I am going to do something about the state we are in and I want each of you on my side! We can make a difference if we are all on the front lines together as a unified body. Step out in faith, it will change the course of your life forever! Show agape love, expect nothing in return, show love to the unloved and seemingly unloveable.
Share this if you accept the challenge, let’s do this together! We can make a difference, I know I’m going to and I want you with me every step of the way. The time is now, start living for the greater good and for the world are children are going to grow up in!
Spread love, not hate!
Let’s fulfill James 5:16, a believer can accomplish much when put into action and made effective by God, it is a dynamic that can have tremendous power. God will honor us loving his people, He is the one with the power to turn this around, we just have to be willing to step out and believe. Let’s do this!
And now these three remain, faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
