Do you think you know the answer, who is in control?
Do you think it is your self?
Is God in control?
Is the Devil in control?
This is a very real question that we all must answer, it is one of the biggest steps to take in order to live the kind of life you want to live.
The Bible reminds us that we must take every thought captive to make it obedient to Christ, every thought! That is a big step, but it is very necessary. I was reading in my bible study “The Armor of God” today, and she discussed this very topic. She said, “Our strongholds are not all the enemy’s fault. Every time we’ve nursed and rehearsed illegitimate thinking, we’ve added another concrete brick to the construction of a stronghold. Whether those thoughts were in relation to doubt, fear, insecurity, salacious imaginations, or something else entirely, rehearsing the enemy’s lies made us in essence a partner with the enemy in building up a fortress that has held us captive.” This statement really made me think and aggravated me at the same time, to think I was in cahoots with the devil to scheme against myself. That is essentially what was happening every time I took a thought to heart and moled over it and let it frustrate me and change my outlook on life or toward someone in particular.
The lesson here is to take EVERY thought captive, not just some thoughts. EVERY ONE, EVERY TIME!
If we really want to start everyday, this new year, off on a different foot we must make this a part of our everyday life. “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-5
We will have to stand apart, be a chosen people who make conscious choices to do things differently, to handle our thoughts differently, to make the world a better place through the way we live our lives everyday. We have to live on guard, not letting the enemy get one foot in. This is very possible, but we have to be willing to live a life that radiates Christ. Radiates Him in our thoughts, give Him control of our lives, be willing to answer His call on our lives. It may feel risky and new but it is the life He created you for, until you will take that step out you will be spinning in many different ways not living your life to its fullest potential. Once we submit to Him, things become so much more clear. He is patiently waiting for each of us to turn to Him, do what He is asking of us and start making the world a better place for each of us. It is all of our job, it needs to become part of our culture, we must not stand on the side lines any longer, waiting for someone else to get things going, we must go all in, all the time.
It is a lifestyle change, it is so worth it. I am only just getting going, I have had a sideline seat for too long. I want to be a part of making our world a happier, more fulfilling place for everyone. I want to see everyone reach their potential, I want to help you go where God wants you. I want to see you help others, we can make a difference if we all put our very best efforts forward. It does have to be something we do every time, not just some of the time. When times are happy, sad, stressful, scared, any emotion you can think of, we have to take our thoughts captive to obey Christ. If we don’t then we are missing out on God’s best for ourselves. Work through your issues, don’t brush them under the rug. Talk about life with your spouse, share your life with those around you. Don’t let problems and circumstances pile up, face them head on, start today. We need to live to our fullest potential, the reward is eternal and everlasting happiness and peace. In the good, the bad and the ugly, we can choose to have peace if we want it.
The choice is yours, what will you do?
It starts in our minds, we must direct our thoughts. Like the verse I mentioned earlier, we don’t fight like the world does, we have an army behind us fighting for us. We use truth and life to find our place in the world. We seek Him first and then let Him direct our paths. Can’t wait to see and hear what you choose. Utilize the armor of God and take your stance against the enemy’s schemes, and stomp him out once and for all.
