Think about it for a bit? Who are you angry with today? Now, think about this?
How long have you been mad at them?
How long have you allowed them to control a piece of you because you are mad at them?
I ran into a friend from high school and we discussed our 20 year reunion, which is this year! I can’t believe it! I am personally very excited to see all of my old friends and connect with people I haven’t seen in years. However, she said something that took me back. She was unsure of her attendance because she might not want to see a few people that she didn’t like in high school. I nodded and stood in disbelief at what I was hearing.
Note, I said 20 year reunion! So, for 20 years she has held onto anger toward someone who is a totally different person in life now. Thank God I’m not the same girl I was in high school, a mess of a girl just trying to fit in and doing whatever it took to do so.
All of that to say this, are you mad at someone from your past? Has it been worth it? It really made me search myself and question how long have I held onto un-nessecary anger? It’s a heart issue, search yourself and give yourself some freedom, you are the one bound by this anger. At this rate in the game, I’m sure whoever you are mad at probably doesn’t even remember you. Let go!
There is so much more to life than keeping a record of wrongs and rights against one another, we are to model humbleness, gentleness and patience. We have to be the ones to move forward and not stand still in fear, anger or whatever else it is that binds you and keeps you from stepping into all that God has to offer you.
My devotion said this today. “Relinquish control of things beyond our ability and trust God who is always able. We must rest from striving so our minds can quiet the noise of our thoughts and our emotions can detangle our knotted feelings.” ~Jennifer Rothschild
That spoke to every situation I’m facing right now. Let go of what you can not change, remember that God is for you and working on your behalf. When you get news that things aren’t the way YOU thought they would be that God is not surprised. He knows everything about everything that we are facing! Roll with His plan, don’t buck up to it. Save yourself the grief and just persevere and learn what He is teaching you. Embrace!
Life is unpredictable to us, however it is very calculated to God. He has our best interest at the forefront. Make sure you are remembering that today. Let go of things that are blocking you from all that He has to offer you. Don’t hold onto old anger, or new anger for that matter, let go! Stand United!
Be obedient, being obedient doesn’t always make sense, don’t try to make sense of it. Just do it!
God can take you to places you’ve only dreamt of if you will just let Him!
What or who is holding you back?
Deal with it, move on and hold on, it will be the best ride of your life! ❤ #livingproof
