Only looking forward…
I have a tendency to want to relive the past, questioning my every turn. Have I made the right decision? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing? It is kind of exhausting, and really unnecessary. We are supposed to be living for today, making things new. It is easy to get caught up in historical thinking, while it is sometimes necessary to make good decisions and learn from our mistakes and shortcomings. That is all it is needed for. We are to be new everyday, we have a clean slate. How will you use yours. The old is gone, the new is here to stay. This is true with every aspect of our lives, our faith, our health, our family. Each day we get a new chance at being who we were created to be. It really is a gift, the question is what are we doing with the gift? Are we opening it as the present that it is or are we dwelling on our past and leaving it unopened on the counter.
It is as though, I have to daily remind myself that I am good enough. I have been created for a special purpose, I can make a difference in a world that seems devastating. and the real truth is so can you. We all can, we are made by the perfect creator. He made the trees, the sunsets, the animals, the life cycle, the clouds, the rainbows, the beauty all around, I think I often forget that he can do anything. and that he will do everything in his perfect timing, his timing is not my timing.
However, when I leave him to being the Lord of my life and stop trying to change everything up and question everything-I can be at peace. If you need to be encouraged today, remember that He is the King of the World. He knows exactly where you are today, he sees you. Accept his love, know he has a perfect plan for you. Embrace it and walk in his truth. Don’t bounce around on the fence, go all in!
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. Isaiah 55:8
