You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
What are you seeking today? You will be sure to find what you are looking for, will it bring you everlasting joy? Is it worth the search?
Are you seeking out of humility or pride?
I know I have to keep my motives in check daily, it is so easy to fall into old habits and try to find my self as more righteous than I should be regarded. However, when I find that I am truly seeking God, when I have a pure heart in my intentions and not selfish gain or pride-He fulfills all of the rest. He literally radiates me with peace.
I find my home to be more peaceful, my life runs much smoother, every aspect of my being is found at rest and in peace. It however requires great discipline on my part. I must devote part of my schedule and daily life to seek Him. To read the Bible or a good book to stir me forward. To pull it all together on Sunday morning and go to church, not to fill a pew, but to be filled by the word of God. He meets me there, just as he will you.
I want to encourage you today, to seek God.
In Matthew 6:33 it says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you.”
If you’re not sure how, open your Bible or the Bible app and begin reading. I recently finished a book called Deeper Waters by Denise Hughes, I would highly recommend it. She suggested to start in Psalms, I have found that to be good advice. I read a chapter or 3 a day.
Find a good church, Google is amazing help in this process. ❤
The point is to just start, don’t put it off. Start living the life that God has called you to, we all have a job to do.
What is yours?
Seek Him and you will find out. It really is that simple. And it really worth it….
