Set you minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2
In keeping with my verse for the year, I am challenging myself to be the best version of myself that I can be. I wanted to share that with you today. I am challenging myself to “21 days of a blameless life”. I am going to strive for excellence from myself for the next 21 days, Jesus did it for all 33 of his years, so I am hoping I can do it for 21 days thus starting a new habit for my life.
I am hoping to set all things aside that distract me and focus on some of the goals I have set for myself. I plan on putting others before myself in all things; not saying anything negative toward another; staying away from gossip, refraining from saying things that don’t build others up.
How will I possibly achieve this?
- Get wisdom and understanding before reacting with anger.
Proverbs 4:4-9 he taught me and said, “Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live. Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will set a garland of grace on your head and present you with a crown of splendor.
- Stand up for what I believe in!
Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
- I am not going to gossip or speak negatively of any situation.
Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
- I am not going to get caught up in worrying what others think.
Galatians 5:26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
- Radiate peace and thanksgiving!
Colossians 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
And most importantly, I will seek Christ first in all things and he will direct my steps. So what about it? Are you in? It will require discipline, but I know the end result will be more than worth it! Are you ready to live the life you were called to live? If so, join me. This could be the first step to greatness in your life!
