So. I am finding it much easier to try to live a blameless life when I am prepared. Isn’t that the case for any and everything? You most likely wouldn’t play in the snow without gloves and a hat. You shouldn’t start a clean eating streak without hitting up the grocery. It’s hard for me to believe that this time last year when it was this freezing cold, we lived in a camper! If we weren’t prepared, at night
the propane would run out, brrr….we would have to plan ahead and have extra tanks and try to be proactive in ensuring they didn’t need to be switched in the middle of the night. Talk about cold🌬It happened more than once.❄ If your going to travel outside of the country, you have to order your passport months in advance. I could go on and on, we must be prepared for what life may bring or to do what we want to do.
Are you prepared? Are you prepared to leave your house each day, thinking of how you can be of service to those you encounter? Are your mind and soul prepared?
We must equip ourselves by spending time in his word if we want to emulate his love to those we encounter. We must prepare ourselves. So we can be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, to be eager to do what is good.
I don’t know about you, but I have to prep myself for this attitude. I have to start it in my home, with my people. It’s not always easy, these are the people I’m most vulnerable with, the place where I often extend a little less grace. However, I am daily reminded that I need to start in my home before I can spread love and joy all around. I must be prepared! I must choose forgiveness when I need to, I must ask again and again without raising my voice. It really is the little things that mean so much to them…I can’t let little things agitate me and get my feelings hurt easily, these are all things that distract me from my goal. I must be prepared in mind, body and spirit.
I achieve this by spending time in God’s word, I have found it to be most rewarding. I usually do it first thing while my house is quiet. Right now there is a one man nerf war going off in the background, but that is his version of being quiet while I type. I must love his little wild heart right where he is, not where I think he should be.
I hope you are encouraged to find your best version of being prepared, it could be done while in the gym with headphones on, sitting in a crowd or stealing a quiet moment at home. It takes your willingness and discipline to find a time and God will meet you there! ❤ the key is to just do it…It will change your life forever…
